Having read this far, you may already have decided that this isn't for you. In which case, thanks for your time.
If, on the other hand, you think that you may be interested please read on to see how we plan to proceed.
Our product is a web-based system that we feel will be of great value to schools and colleges. It enables teachers and school/ college managers to plan the delivery of their courses in a transparent and logical way. It has great benefits from a quality standpoint and would show inspectors that curriculum planning, review and evaluation is being taken seriously by the organisation using the application.
The application itself may be installed on the organisation's servers to form part of their Intranet, or hosted externally. We handle the technical side of the operation and deal with support calls, etc. Your role would be to sell the system.
At this stage, we hope that this outline is sufficient to give you an understanding of 'what' we hope to sell to educational establishments. The 'how' is where we need the help and support of people who understand the academic environment and have the persuasive skills to sell our system and to act as area representatives/ account managers for future business.
We are a small company with a background in web site development, small software applications and the creation of learning materials. We consider ourselves to be 'techies' rather than sales oriented.
Our new product represents a huge step for us - into a much larger market than we have ever entertained before (there are over 26,000 schools in this country alone).
We do not intend, or wish to, employ a sales force. We are much happier with the idea of paying a high rate of commission to people who do the hard work (selling) on our behalf. We see this as a free franchise opportunity for people who fit the bill. Our system is priced on a per FTE (full-time equivalent staff) basis, so the sale of our system to a school or college could result in a purchase fee of between £1,400 and £9,500. We would offer 20% commission on sales of our system, which taking the price range quoted could result in commission payment of between £280 and £1,900 per sale.
